Due to a lack of entries, live racing at Assiniboia Downs Race Track has been officially canceled for Friday, May 9.
Live racing will continue as originally scheduled on Saturday, May 10 at 7:00 p.m. and Mother's Day Sunday, May 11 at 1:30 p.m.
"We have a sufficient inventory of horses on the grounds, however, mainly due to the poor weather conditions that impaired regular spring training, including a delayed opening of the main track for morning exercise, we do not have an adequate amount of horses prepared to run over a period of three consecutive days. More horses will be arriving shortly from other race meets that are set to conclude soon," said Darren Dunn.
Assiniboia Downs will operate on Friday, May 9 with the regular hours of 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 a.m. featuring 140 VLTs in the Club West Gaming Lounge and simulcast racing available from the top race tracks around the world from approximately 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m.
