First, my sincere condolences to the family and friends of the late A. E. “Bert” Blake – a friend, a true gentleman and a tremendous horseman who unselfishly taught so many people so much.

I worked for Bert in the ‘80s and spent good bit of time with him over the years. He was the truest horse trainer I ever had the privilege of meeting during my 36 years here.

As of this writing, nothing had been finalized with regards to a memorial service, but we will be keeping you up to date here. The Insider Newsletter this week has a number of pieces dedicated to Mr. Blake, and they are all worth reading.

Thank you George for your kind words about Uncle Bert. He as left a huge hole in our hearts. As a family, we are still coming to grips with his passing, as are, I am sure, his numerous friends in the horse industry. We all miss him so much. (I am one of his nieces.)
